Hostal El Pulpo guesthouse is located in Poneloya, a scenic 20 km ride from the colonial city of Leon and 100 km from the capital city of Managua.

BY BUS FROM LEON: Bus fare will cost 13 cordobas per person which is approximately $0.50 USD. You can catch the bus at the terminal in Subtiava. Note there are 2 bus stations in Leon, you need to leave from the bus station in the west of the city. The buses leave the terminal every 45 - 60 minutes, or whenever the bus is full. All buses from this station go to Poneloya first that onto Las Penitas. Just tell the driver you're going to Hostal El Pulpo and he will drop you off at the door. Look out for our big octopus logo painted on the roadside wall. Follow the arrows down the beach access path to our beach front entrance. It will take approximately 30 - 45 minutes to get to Hostal El Pulpo guesthouse.


BY TAXI FROM LEON: A taxi from Leon will cost between 200 - 300 cordobas, which is approximately $10 - $12 USD.

BY CAR FROM LEON: Take ‘Rubén Darío’ (it is the major street within Leon) that will take you to the western suburb of Suitava. You will pass the Texaco Station on your right hand side, you know that you’re going in the correct direction when you see the station. Continue past the Sutiava Market, also known as “El Mercandito” and just keep driving straight along the same road for about 15 minutes. You will say adios to Leon and drive through beautiful farmland. Eventually, you will be able to see the ocean in the distance. When the road finally forks, take the road that bends to the right and you will enter Poneloya. (Turning left instead or following the road to the right will take you to Las Penitas.) After the bend drive about 700 metres and on the left hand side you will see the beach and our Hostal El Pulpo logo painted on the outside of our building. Just look for the big pulpo "octopus" and you have arrived.

TRANSFER FROM MANAGUA: Pick up in Managua from the airport or your hotel is available upon request. Rates start at $80 - $120 USD for 1 - 4 people. We can also arrange transportation for larger groups.
